Longyearbyen Lokalstyre (LL) is responsible for accommodating all evacuees, and all available resources will be used for the purpose. This may be hotel rooms, vacant apartments / rooms outside the evacuated area or pat bed in the sportshall. This work is done by LL's housing office, which will be established in the foyer in Næringsbygget during evacuation.
LL nevertheless requests residents who live in Lia (road 222-230) and Nybyen to make their own private arrangements for accommodation with friends or colleagues in case of evacuation.
Our experience is that private agreements makes evacuation less inconvenience for you. We hope you see the value of this.
